Google has announced the specific date for the rollout of the new algorithm to commence rolling out.
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact on our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high-quality search results that are optimised for their devices.”
It’s good news if you’ve recently overhauled and updated your website – but for businesses with older websites, that are not mobile-friendly, this has the potential to have a devastating effect on businesses if you rely on mobile search.
